History

Kusinkapital is a private family owned investment company.
The owners are a branch of the broader Hartwall family, which creates a strong bond between Kusinkapital and the family owned Hartwall Capital.

 

Hartwall Capital has its roots in Oy Hartwall Ab, a beverage company established in 1836 when Victor Hartwall set up the first Nordic mineral water plant in Helsinki.

 

Kusinkapital was founded in 2004 when it’s first investment was made. The company was activated in 2008 and Paul Hartwall was elected as the CEO of the company.

Scottish & Newcastle acquired

Heineken and Carlsberg acquire Scottish & Newcastle. The Finnish operations of Hartwall become part of Heineken N.V. as of 29 April 2008.

Hartwall Ltd. – Scottish & Newcastle merge

Finnish Hartwall Ltd. and UK based Scottish & Newcastle merge. The Hartwall share is de-listed from the Helsinki stock exchange.

1994

Listed on Helsinki stock exchange

Hartwall Ltd. is listed on the Helsinki stock exchange on 1 July 1994.

1991

First brewery acquired

The first brewery to be acquired is Estonian Saku brewery, acquired in 1991.

Joint venture

Baltic Beverage Holding (BBH) is established as a joint venture with the Swedish group Pripps Bryggeriet.

1836

Victor Hartwall

On 2 February 1836, the Senate authorises Victor Hartwall, PhD, to produce and bottle hot and cold mineral waters. Hartwall then sets up the first mineral water plant in the Nordic countries. Operations start in the Sederholm House by Senaatintori Square in Helsinki.
